So our rep from VISU (Blake Pearson, give him a ring), stopped by and showed off some great work yesterday. One of things that stuck out was this motion graphics studio up in Calgary called STUDIO DIALOG. Great website, and even better reel. Overall really great work and the reel is fantastic. I watch this and in still pains me that I don’t get to do that much motion work these days.
Tooling around Charter’s On-Demand system, I find that they have a whole music video section. This is great for a lazy fool like me who doesn’t want to wait for his music to show up once a week on MTVU. Now that we have every channel, it’s tempting to watch videos again… but the Music Choice menu had a lot a great stuff… like the new single from The Doves, “Kingdom of Rust.” I love it… really excited to get this!
Filmed really well… directed by China Moo-Young. Sad and nostalgic… I love how they leave it open… and everyone has a different takeaway at the ending. Love the Ford Granada too, quite clean. This is her second video… first one was Keith’s “Lullaby.”
Now, another video I fancied was Depeche Mode’s “Wrong.” Cool, creepy and kept me watching because that song gets really repetitive. I haven’t listened to the new album, but I was a fan back in the day. Suppose I still am. Watch “Wrong” at YouTube… (DM refused to let us embed! Cheeky bastards…)
I’ve been catching up on tweets and random postings from friends on this quiet Friday night. I’m a in awe of a post from Wrath66… a must follow on Twitter.
18 minutes, and I watched it all in one sitting. That takes a lot to keep me that still. Wow. Check out the talents of Nathan “Flutebox” Lee and Beardyman from the UK.
ADDENDUM: And here’s another Flute Beat Box story from NPR regarding Greg Pattillo flute beat box talents.

Ha Ha Tonka plays Off Broadway May 6, 2009
Ha Ha Tonka is rolling into St. Louis tomorrow morning for a full day of activities. They’re part of the Born Small Town tour from Rolling Rock… and one really exciting detour is a stop over at Shock City Studios to record an exclusive track (later to be announced.) My team is working right now on the update of RollingRock.com. That’ll be a cool addition with more bands from Bloodshot Records, exclusive video clips, and tour info.
If you don’t have plans for Wednesday night, come on down to Off Broadway for some great music.
